Family Dollar and it’s Parent Company Dollar tree reported on Wednesday that they aimed to close their 1000 stores in coming years operating in United States and Canada.

On Wednesday 13 March 2024, Dollar Tree released reports of its fourth-quarter financial results in which company performances across its retail outlets in mentioned financial period were discussed.

In this financial report, Dollar Tree company informed that they are planning to close their 1000 stores which will be done in two phases :

• In first phase they will close about 600 Family Dollar stores in first half of 2024
• In second phase, another 370 stores were closed in coming years as their leases expire.

Family Dollar Stores Closing List:

Dollar Tree  which are Operating about 16,774 stores across 48 States of United States and five Canadian provinces and being run under brands of Dollar Tree, Family Dollar, and Dollar Tree Canada.

If we talk about lists of Family Dollar Stores, so in financial report by Dollar Tree, exact list of Family Dollar stores and their locations of are not yet released officially.

UPDATE; Finally i have made list of Family Dollar stores closing locations list from information gathered from local media reports.

Dollar Tree further did not informed when the process of closing stores will begin and which US states will be affected by this decision they only shared information of closing stores in two phases which I already had discussed.

Furthermore , I am sharing website link of Dollar Tree where financial report was published by them.

Some media houses contacted Dollar tree to get information about locations of closing stores, but still they didn’t get a response regarding it.

Why Dollar tree has to Close these Stores?

Family Dollar has to face record fine of $41.6 million for storing items in rat-infested warehouse becoming a main reason which forced Dollar Tree to took decision of closing stores.

Although Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Dollar tree Rick Dreiling in March 2024 fourth quarter financial report said:

“We finished the year strong, with fourth quarter results reflecting positive traffic trends, market share gains, and adjusted margin improvement across both segments,”

“While we are still in the early stages of our transformation journey, I am proud of what our team accomplished in 2023 and see a long runway of growth ahead of us. As we look forward in 2024, we are accelerating our multi-price rollout at Dollar Tree and taking decisive action to improve profitability and unlock value at Family Dollar.
